5 CAREER ADVICES FOR MILLENIALS

Sebut Nama mereka Elis, Dion, RAma, Sinta dan Andy . Mereka adalah para millennial generation yang saat ini memasuki dunia kerja, dan beberapa tahun lagi akan mendominasi market of talents di Indonesia. Mereka ini cerdas, cepat dan (digitally) connected. Perusahaan , organisasi dan boss yang smart akan mengerti potensi mereka , memahami karakter mereka dan menggunakan potensi dan talenta mereka untuk kemajuan bisnis.

Sayangnya kadang-kadang di beberapa perusahaan lain di Indonesia, banyak yang tidak mengerti mereka. Generasi leader yang jadul selalu membandingkan mereka dengan generasi mereka sebelumnya. Menganggap mereka tidak sopan, tidak loyal, tidak focus dan judgement negative yang lain.
Para millennial ini kecewa banget,
frustasi, bahkan marah dengan judgement yang mereka terima.

Hari ini saya makan siang bersama mereka di daerah Rasuna Said.
Kami  ngobrol santai sambil ditemani oleh tuna sandwich dan strawberry milshake (ya iyalah, mereka kan Millennial, memangnya mau makan apa? Rawon dhengkul?).
Anyway, mereka mulai mencurahkan isi hati mereka ...
Elis bilang,"Kok kayaknya semua menjudge bahwa saya terlalu straightforward dan tidak basa-basi. Padahal itu memang communication style dan personality saya"
Andy menyampaikan,"Saya gak setuju kalau dibilang kami gak loyal. Kalau perusahaannya keren dan kami suka,
pasti kami stay"
RAma curhat,"Mengaoa banyak yang bilang kami gak  bisa fokus pada satu hal, padahal kami memang terbiasa melakukan beberapa hal secara parallel"
Sinta sharing,"Saya gak suka kalau dibilang kami gak sabaran (impatience), kami memang sangat efisiem"
Dan akhirnya Dion  bilang,"Mengapa kami dibilang tidak sensitive ya?"

Mereka mewakili ribuan millennials yang merasa tidak diperlakukan dengan tidak fair. Padahal perusahaan, organisasi dan atasannya yang harus juga menyesuaikan diri!
Padahal banyak atasan yang suka ngomong,"Kalau saya dulu kan ...."
Hey, wake up! Jaman sudah berganti.
Stop saying,"Kalau dulu ...."
Start saying,"Sekarang jamannya memang begini, berarti saya juga harus menyesuaikan diri!"

Ingat , mereka itu cerdas, mereka itu cepat dan mereka itu (digitally) connected. Kalau anda gak bisa me-manage mereka dengan baik, mereka akan kabur dari tempat anda, pergi ke perusahaan lain atau bahkan pergi ke competitor anda.
This is not what you want.
So you have to spend time with them,
listen to them, understand them and help them to achieve their dreams.

Jadi apa yang bisa anda lakukan?
Apa yang bisa anda berikan ke millennials?
V:  Visi yang jelas dan membuat mereka bangga
O:   Opportunity untuk berkembang
I: Incentive yang competitive, baik financial maupun  non-financial
C:  Cool Boss yang mereka bisa ceritakan ke temen2nya
E:  environment yang positive dan akan membuat mereka berkembang
Voila, please listen to the "VOICE" of millenial (visi, opportunity, incentive,
cool boss dan environment).


Ok, sekarang saya juga ingin berdiskusi dengan para millennial.
You will rule the world. Tapi ada beberapa hal yang harus diperhatikan. Its ok to be straightforward, parallel and connected. Tetapi anda tetap harus bekerja keras untuk mencapai cita-cita anda. 

Jangan terbuai dengan yang bilang "work smart not hard". Saya bertemu dengan banyak CEO dalam karier saya, tidak ada yang tidak bekerja keras. They all work hard AND smart!!!

Nah, sekarang perhatikan (dan jalankan) lima rekomendasi di  bawah ini:

a) Don't settle for a job you're not passionate about. 

Kerjakan sesuatu yang anda benar benar suka, sampai anda tidak melihat bedanya antara bekerja, hobby dan main main.
When you're passionate about your job, you're excited, you work longer hours and end up accomplishing much more. Life is too short to settle for a career that you hate!

b) Think of your career as a series of experiences. 

Anda harus memikirkan karier sebagai sebuah perjalanan (journey) untuk membangun CV dan portfolio anda agar lebih menarik di masa depan. Jangan keburu-buru loncat atau pindah kerja karena sekedar pindah (atau sekedar karena gajinya lebih gedhe di tempat lain).
You need to collect experiences throughout your careers, whether that be with one, five employers or ten, with one business function or five or in one country or three. The idea is that you need to be a lifelong learner if you want to make an impact, succeed and feel accomplished. The experiences you have expand your world view, give you new perspectives and make you a more interesting person.

c) Take risks early and often in your career. 

Beranilah mengambil resiko dalam career anda.  No pain, no gain!
One of the important lessons this economy has taught us is that not taking risks is risky. There is so much out of our control and if we just keep doing what we did yesterday, we can't get ahead. By taking a risk, you are putting yourself in a position to learn, whether you succeed or fail. Since  we become an even more entrepreneurial society, those that take risks, both inside and outside of the corporate walls, will become more successful.

d) Spend more time with people than with your gadget or laptop

Saya mengerti, kalau saya menyuruh millennial untuk tidak melihat gadgetnya selama 2 jam, maka akan ada yang epilepsi, diare, dan matanya berkunang kunang.
Saya mengerti bahwa anda digitally connected dan perlu terus menerus melihat gadget anda, dan kebutuhan anda pada wifie sudah lebih urgent daripada kebutuhan makan dan minum.
But ....and but ....
Agar anda sukses dalam karier anda, hal yang juga sangat penting adalah team work dan leadership skills anda. Di situlah anda harus sering  berinteraksi dengan manusia lain untuk mengasah skills tersebut.

Soft skills will always become more cherished in companies so it's important to (sometimes) drop your technology and actually communicate with people. People hire you, not technology and you have to remember that!

e) Travel as much as you can, while learning about cultures and languages. 

Dunia adalah sebuah buku, dan negara adalah halaman di buku itu. Berapa halaman yang pernah anda baca? Berapa negara yang anda pernah kunjungi? We live in a global marketplace now and companies are looking to expand and hire the best talent, regardless of location. The more you travel and experience the world, the better you will be at serving this marketplace and taking advantage of it. Furthermore, if you're learning new languages, you are ahead of the curve. It's hard for companies to find workers who are fluent in languages so if that's you, you become more marketable.

Jadi ingat ya, lima hal yang akan mampu mem-boost career anda:

a) Don't settle for a job you're not passionate about. 
b) Think of your career as a series of experiences. 
c) Take risks early and often in your career. 
d) Spend more time with people than with your gadget or laptop
e) Travel as much as you can, while learning about cultures and languages.

“Visi Indonesia”

Assalamuallaikum wr. Wb
Salam sejahtera bagi kita semua
Om swastiastu
Namo buddhaya
Salam kebajikan

Bapak, Ibu, saudara-saudara sebangsa dan setanah air.
Seluruh rakyat Indonesia yang saya cintai. Hadirin yang berbahagia.

Kita harus menyadari, kita harus sadar semuanya bahwa sekarang kita hidup dalam sebuah lingkungan global yang sangat dinamis! Fenomena global yang ciri-cirinya kita ketahui, penuh perubahan, penuh kecepatan, penuh risiko, penuh kompleksitas, dan penuh kejutan, yang sering jauh dari kalkulasi kita, sering jauh dari hitungan kita.

Oleh sebab itu, kita harus mencari sebuah model baru, cara baru, nilai-nilai baru dalam mencari solusi dari setiap masalah dengan inovasi-inovasi. Dan kita semuanya harus mau dan akan kita paksa untuk mau. Kita harus meninggalkan cara-cara lama, pola-pola lama, baik dalam mengelola organisasi, baik dalam mengelola lembaga, maupun dalam mengelola pemerintahan. Yang sudah tidak efektif, kita buat menjadi efektif! Yang sudah tidak efisien, kita buat menjadi efisien!

Manajemen seperti inilah yang kita perlukan sekarang ini. Kita harus menuju pada sebuah negara yang lebih produktif, yang memiliki daya saing, yang memiliki fleksibilitas yang tinggi dalam menghadapi perubahan-perubahan itu. Oleh sebab itu, kita menyiapkan tahapan-tahapan besar.

PERTAMA, pembangunan infrastruktur akan terus kita lanjutkan! Infrastruktur yang besar-besar sudah kita bangun. Ke depan, kita akan lanjutkan dengan lebih cepat dan menyambungkan infrastruktur besar tersebut, seperti jalan tol, kereta api, pelabuhan, dan bandara dengan kawasan-kawasan produksi rakyat. Kita sambungkan dengan kawasan industri kecil, sambungkan dengan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus, sambungkan dengan kawasan pariwisata. Kita juga harus menyambungkan infrastruktur besar dengan kawasan persawahan, kawasan perkebunan, dan tambak-tambak perikanan. 

KEDUA, pembangunan SDM. Kita akan memberikan prioritas pembangunan kita pada pembangunan sumber daya manusia. Pembangunan SDM menjadi kunci Indonesia ke depan. Titik dimulainya pembangunan SDM adalah dengan menjamin kesehatan ibu hamil, kesehatan bayi, kesehatan balita, kesehatan anak usia sekolah. Ini merupakan umur emas untuk mencetak manusia Indonesia unggul ke depan. Itu harus dijaga betul. Jangan sampai ada stunting, kematian ibu, atau kematian bayi meningkat. Tugas besar kita di situ!

Kualitas pendidikannya juga akan terus kita tingkatkan. Bisa dipastikan pentingnya vocational training, pentingnya vocational school. Kita juga akan membangun lembaga Manajemen Talenta Indonesia. Pemerintah akan mengidentifikasi, memfasilitasi, serta memberikan dukungan pendidikan dan pengembangan diri bagi talenta-talenta Indonesia.

Diaspora yang bertalenta tinggi harus kita berikan dukungan agar memberikan kontribusi besar bagi percepatan pembangunan Indonesia. Kita akan menyiapkan lembaga khusus yang mengurus manajemen talenta ini. Kita akan mengelola talenta-talenta hebat yang bisa membawa negara ini bersaing secara global.

KETIGA, kita harus mengundang investasi yang seluas-luasnya dalam rangka membuka lapangan pekerjaan. Jangan ada yang alergi terhadap investasi.  Dengan cara inilah lapangan pekerjaan akan terbuka sebesar-besarnya. Oleh sebab itu, yang menghambat investasi, semuanya harus dipangkas, baik perizinan yang lambat, berbelit-belit, apalagi ada punglinya! Hati-hati, ke depan saya pastikan akan saya kejar, saya kontrol, saya cek, dan saya hajar kalau diperlukan. Tidak ada lagi hambatan-hambatan investasi karena ini adalah kunci pembuka lapangan pekerjaan.

KEEMPAT, sangat penting bagi kita untuk mereformasi birokrasi kita. Reformasi struktural! Agar lembaga semakin sederhana, semakin simpel, semakin lincah! Hati-hati! Kalau pola pikir, mindset birokrasi tidak berubah, saya pastikan akan saya pangkas!

Kecepatan melayani, kecepatan memberikan izin, menjadi kunci bagi reformasi birokrasi. Akan saya cek sendiri! Akan saya kontrol sendiri! Begitu saya lihat tidak efisien atau tidak efektif, saya pastikan akan saya pangkas, copot pejabatnya. Kalau ada lembaga yang tidak bermanfaat dan bermasalah, akan saya bubarkan!

Tidak ada lagi pola pikir lama! Tidak ada lagi kerja linier, tidak ada lagi kerja rutinitas, tidak ada lagi kerja monoton, tidak ada lagi kerja di zona nyaman. HARUS BERUBAH! Sekali lagi, kita harus berubah. Kita harus membangun nilai-nilai baru dalam bekerja, menuntut kita harus cepat beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman. Maka kita harus terus membangun Indonesia yang ADAPTIF, Indonesia yang PRODUKTIF, dan Indonesia yang INOVATIF, Indonesia yang KOMPETITIF.

KELIMA, kita harus menjamin penggunaan APBN yang fokus dan tepat sasaran. Setiap rupiah yang keluar dari APBN, semuanya harus kita pastikan memiliki manfaat ekonomi, memberikan manfaat untuk rakyat, meningkatkan kesejahteraan untuk masyarakat.

BAPAK IBU DAN HADIRIN YANG BERBAHAGIA, namun perlu saya ingatkan bahwa mimpi-mimpi besar hanya bisa terwujud jika kita bersatu! Jika kita optimis! Jika kita percaya diri! Kita harus ingat bahwa negara kita adalah negara besar! Negara dengan 17 ribu pulau. Dengan letak geo-politik yang strategis. Kita adalah negara yang ber-Bhinneka Tunggal Ika! Memiliki kekayaan budaya yang luar biasa. Demografi kita juga sangat kuat! Jumlah penduduk 267 juta jiwa, yang mayoritas di usia produktif.

Kita harus optimis menatap masa depan! Kita harus percaya diri dan berani menghadapi tantangan kompetisi global. Kita harus yakin bahwa kita bisa menjadi salah satu negara terkuat di dunia.

Persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa adalah pengikat utama dalam meraih kemajuan. Persatuan dan persaudaraan kita harus terus kita perkuat! Hanya dengan bersatu, kita akan menjadi negara yang kuat dan disegani di dunia! Ideologi Pancasila adalah satu-satunya ideologi bangsa yang setiap Warga Negara harus menjadi bagian darinya!

Dalam demokrasi, mendukung mati-matian seorang kandidat itu boleh. Mendukung dengan militansi yang tinggi itu juga boleh. Menjadi oposisi itu juga sangat mulia. Silakan. Asal jangan oposisi menimbulkan dendam. Asal jangan oposisi menimbulkan kebencian. Apalagi disertai dengan hinaan, cacian, dan makian.

Kita memiliki norma-norma agama, etika, tata krama, dan budaya yang luhur.

Pancasila adalah rumah kita bersama, rumah bersama kita sebagai saudara sebangsa! Tidak ada toleransi sedikit pun bagi yang mengganggu Pancasila! Yang mempermasalahkan Pancasila! Tidak ada lagi orang Indonesia yang tidak mau ber-Bhinneka Tunggal Ika! Tidak ada lagi orang Indonesia yang tidak toleran terhadap perbedaan! Tidak ada lagi orang Indonesia yang tidak menghargai penganut agama lain, warga suku lain, dan etnis lain.

Sekali lagi, ideologi kita adalah Pancasila. Kita ingin bersama dalam Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, dalam keberagaman. Rukun itu indah. Bersaudara itu indah. Bersatu itu indah.

Saya yakin, semua kita berkomitmen meletakkan demokrasi yang berkeadaban, yang menunjujung tinggi kepribadian Indonesia, yang menunjung tinggi martabat Indonesia, yang akan membawa Indonesia menjadi Indonesia Maju, Adil dan Makmur.

Indonesia Maju adalah Indonesia yang tidak ada satu pun rakyatnya tertinggal untuk meraih cita-citanya. Indonesia yang demokratis, yang hasilnya dinikmati oleh seluruh rakyat. Indonesia yang setiap warga negaranya memiliki hak yang sama di depan hukum. Indonesia yang menguasai ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kelas dunia. Indonesia yang mampu menjaga dan mengamankan bangsa dan negara dalam dunia yang semakin kompetitif.

Ini bukanlah tentang aku, atau kamu. Juga bukan tentang kami, atau mereka. Bukan soal Barat atau Timur. Juga bukan Selatan atau Utara. Sekarang bukan saatnya memikirkan itu semua. Tapi ini saatnya memikirkan tentang bangsa kita bersama. Jangan pernah ragu untuk maju karena kita mampu jika kita bersatu!

Penerapan Budaya Organisasi dimulai dari Komitmen Manajemen

Cara Efektif untuk membuat Budaya Perusahaan dimengerti, dipahami dan dilakukan oleh semua penghuni perusahaan adalah :

1. Komitmen Perilaku Manajemen
Ini adalah syarat utama dalam penerapan budaya organisasi karena Manajemen akan menjadi Agen Perubahan Efektif dalam mengubah Mindset semua SDM. Manajemen menjadi Role Model yang paling dasar dalam penerapan ini.

2. Konsistensi Manajemen
Manajemen dituntut konsisten dalam menerapkan budaya organisasi termasuk pola perilaku yang akan dilakukan karena tanpa konsistensi maka komitmen itu belumlah cukup dimaknai dalam perilaku manajemen.

3. Aturan Penegakan berlaku Sama Rata
Dalam menjalankan budaya organisasi tentu dibutuhkan juga aturan yang mendukungnya sehingga aturan tersebut akan menjadi alat pengendali dalam penerapan pola - pola kebiasaan yang dibutuhkan. Penerapan ini hauslah sama rata dan bukan tebang pilih dalam pelaksanaannya.

4. Keterlibatan semua SDM
Setelah komitmen manajemen maka muncullah pelibatan pelaksanaan pada semua elemen SDM di organisasi yang ada dan itu membutuhkan rangkaian proses panjang sosialisasi dan internalisasi yang efektif dan tepat sasaran secara kontinyu berkelanjutan.

Mari mulai setiap perubahan baik dan budaya positif dari diri kita

APA YANG HARUS DILAKUKAN KALAU GAGAL MASUK UNIVERSITAS TOP?

APA YANG HARUS DILAKUKAN KALAU GAGAL MASUK UNIVERSITAS TOP?

Beberapa minggu yang lalu ada pengumuman penerimaan seleksi masuk Universitas negeri.
Ada teman-teman saya yang anaknya masuk Universitas Top dan kemudian memanjatkan puji syukur sambil (tidak lupa) memasang pengumumannya di Social Media.
Ada juga yang anaknya tidak diterima, dan mereka bersedih , kecewa bahkan panic atau over-reacted.

Padahal dari pengalaman saya selama lebih dari dua puluh tahun dalam pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (saya bekerja sebagai HR selama dua puluh tahun, di lima negara, termasuk menjadi HR Director di 3 perusahaan besar di Indonesia),  ternyata banyak sekali CEO, Direktur Utama, Business Leader dan Enterpreneur tidak lulus dari Universitas Top. Ada yang lulus dari Universitas kelas dua atau bahkan Universitas kelas tiga.

Sebaliknya saya juga mengenal teman-teman saya dari Universitas Top yang kariernya malah nggak jelas. Jadi ternyata dari mana anda lulus ternyata sangat tidak menentukan keberhasilan hidup anda nanti. Jadi buat apa bersedih? You are wasting your time and your energy!

Terus kalau ijasah (dari Universitas Top) bikan menjadi jaminan keberhasilan hidup, terus apa dong ?
Saya sharing dalam bentuk yang simple “ABC sangat lebih penting daripada CDE”
Attitudes, Behaviors dan Characters ternyata jauh lebih penting daripada Competences, Diploma dan Experiences!

Berarti ternyata leadership (kepemimpinan), teamworking (cara kita bekerja dengan orang lain) dan communication skills itu sangat lebih penting!
Berarti, mau anda lulusan Universitas Top atau bukan, yang penting anda belajar leadership, teamworking dan communication skills, selain major degrer anda, anda akan mempunyai kemungkinan yang besar untuk berhasil dalam hidup ini! Voila!

Terus apa yang harus anda lakukan seandainya tahun ini anda gagal masuk ke Universitas Top?
Lakukan beberapa saran di bawah ini:

a) DEVELOP and IMPLEMENT PLAN B

Jangan terlalu lama larut dalam kesedihan.
Segera cari alternative lain. Daftar universitas lain atau belajar keras agar bisa mencoba lagi tahun depan.
Gagal sekali, itu harus memacu semangat anda untuk terus berusaha.
Bedanya Winner  dan Loser bukannya karena Winner selalu berhasil, NO!
Mereka juga pernah gagal (mungki  malah sering gagal), tetapi mereka bangkit dan bangkit lagi. They keep trying, keep learning and keep motivating themselvea.
Sementara Loser mudah menyerah!
Jadi, cari alternative lain atau cobalah dan cobalah lagi.

b) KEEP STUDYING, KEEP LEARNING

Alternative apapun yang akan anda ambil, sebenarnya anda tetap harus belajar dan belajar lagi.
Kita tidak akan lebih berhasil karena kita lebih cerdas, tetapi kita akan lebih berhasil karena kita bekerja lebih keras!
Jangan pernah percaya pada slogan”Work smart, not hard” (bekerja secara cerdas, bukan bekerja keras!)
Well, saya banyak mengenal CEO dan bisnisman (serta business woman) yang sukses, semuanya work hard and smart!!!
Jadi ambillah buku lagi, dan bekerja keraslah , belajarlah sebanyak banyaknya.
Sehebat apapun leadership dan communication skills anda kalau anda tidak mempunyai kompetensi bagus dalam major degree anda, anda juga tidak akan pernah berhasil dalam karier anda!

c) BUILD YOUR OWN DIFFERENTIATORS

Ingat bahwa suatu saat nanti anda akan berkompetisi. Ijasah apapun yang anda punya tidak akan mampu membedakan anda dengan yang lain dan tidak akan mampu membuat anda memenangkan kompetisi di masa depan.
Separate yourself from the cowrd. Build your differentiators. Belajarlah 2-3 bahasa asing. Tambahlah certificate anda  Pelajarilah hal lain yang melengkapi kompetensi anda!

d) RELAX, SMILLE, THERE ARE DIFFERENT WAYS To ACHIEVE SUCCESS in YOUR LIFE

Terakhir, kalaupun anda gagal masuk universitas Top, relax, jangan panik, tersenyumlah, ada seribu jalan menuju Roma, ada seribu jalan mencapai keberhasilan,
Dunia sangat luas, di atas langit masih ada langit.
Dan saya yakin, kalau anda bekerja keras dengan cerdas, anda akan berhasil dalam kehidupan ini, terserah dari Universitas manapun anda akan lulus!

COPING WITH RAPID CHANGE


Namanya  Tito, hari itu kami ngobrol via telephone di sebuah sabtu pagi yang cerah.
Tito terbiasa bekerja di perusahaan multi nasional sejak dia lulus dari Universitas.
Dua bulan yang lalu , Tito memutuskan untuk pindah jalur. Setelah lima tahun bekerja di sebuah perusahaan asing, dia memutuskan pindah ke perusahaan lokal yang bergerak di sektor lain.
Tito suka  , karena industrynya baru dan budaya kerjanya berbeda. Dia merasa akan belajar banyak, good balance of LEARNING and EARNING!

Ternyata ...oh ternyata....
dua bulan kemudian Tito merasa shock. Perubahan yang terjadi ternyata begitu cepat.
Waktu dulu Tito bekerja  di perusahaan multinasional, Tito merasa perubahannya datang dari global office, kemudian ke regional office , barulah datang ke organiasi Tito di Indonesia.
Masalahnya ini perusahaan lokal, global office nya ya di Jakarta, berarti Tito sangat dekat dengan "center of gravity" dan irama perubahan pun semakin cepat!
"Apa yang harus saya lakukan, Mas?"

Pertanyaan ini menarik dan mari kita bahas. Banyak di antara kita yang komplain karena perubahan terjadi begitu cepat. Perubahan yang satu belum selesai, dan kemudian kita belum sepenuhnya beradaptasi, eh malah datang perubahan berikutnya. Banyak yang bernostalgia bahwa dulu (atau di perusahaan sebelumnya),  perubahan itu tidak secepat ini, atau planningnya jauh lebih baik.
Apa yang sedang terjadi?

Yang sedang terjadi adalah bisnis kita memang berubah lebih cepat karena dunia yang berubah begitu cepat: teknology , regulasi dan komepetisi yang memang berubah begitu cepat.
Ternyata memang jarang sekali perubahan yang terjadi pada waktu yang tepat. Sebagian besar perubahan selalu terjadi lebih cepat atau terlambat.
Masalahnya kalau perubahannya terlambat, akibatnya fatal bagi perusahaan.
Lihat saja Malaysia Airlines (yang dulu menjadi kebanggaan negara tetangga kita), sekarang tertinggal jauh oleh Air Asia.
Lihat saja Kodak, Nokia phone, Blackberry dan banyak perusahaan hebat yang kini bangkrut?
Jadi ... karena jarang sekali perubahan yang terjadi tepat waktu, mana yang anda pilih? Terlalu lambat (dan bangkrut) atau terlalu cepat (dan survive)?
Jawabannya mudah kan? Karena kita ingin survive. Berarti jangan complain lagi, kalau perubahan itu terlalu cepat. Itu berarti tanda-tanda bagus bahwa perusahaan kita akan survive.
Lebih suka mana? Comfort (nyaman) dan bangkrut? Atau uncomfortable (karena terlalu perubahan yang terlalu cepat) dan survive?

Tetapi tetap saja, kita harus mempersiapkan diri agar kita mampu menghadapi perubahan itu kan? Apalagi kalau perubahan itu berjalan dengan (terlalu) cepat. Terus, apa yang kita bisa lakukan agar bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan irama perubahan yang begitu cepat? 

Kita ikuti empat rekomendasi di bawah ini:

a) Recognize the emotions caused by change

Pertama kali, anda harus mengerti bahwa memang selama proses perubahan akan ada beberapa emosi yang akan keluar dan tereskspresikan. Berarti memang harus menyadari bahwa dalam perubahan itu sangat normal
kalau kadang kadang anda sedih, kecewa, menangis bahkan marah.
Accept the reality. And it is normal that you feel that way.
Kuncinya adalah menganggap bahwa perasaan negative itu normal di masa perubahan, kemudian accept reality dan kemudian segera move on to the next steps of the change.

b) See change as a fresh start

Memang kadang-kadang perubahan terasa berat. Tetapi, bukankah bangun tidur di pagi hari kadang juga berat. Tidur itu nyaman banget, dan kita begitu comfortable berada di pulau kasur. Tetapi tetap saja kita harus bangun tidur dan memulai aktivitas kita kan.
Karena secara tidak sadar, subconscious mind kita mengatakan,"Memang tidur itu nyaman, tetapi bangun dan memulai aktifitas adalah sebuah keharusan"
Sama, pada saat memulai sebuah perubahan, katakan pada diri anda,"Situasi sebelumnya memang nyaman, Tetapi kita tidak bisa kembali ke masa itu. Beradaptasi dengan perubahan adalah sebuah sesuatu yang HARUS saya lakukan"
This is a new fresh start, a new beginning and a new opportunity to grab.

c) Create your own FLAN (flexible plan)

Suasana bisnis saat ini tidak bisa di prediksi. Begitu banyak hal yang bisa saja terjadi di luar kontrol kita. Terus bagaimana ? Make your plan, but be prepared to be flexible and change your plan. Make your FLAN (flexible plan).
Artinya tetap membuat rencana, Plan A (kalau semua berjalan seperti rencana), tetapi bersiaplan dengan alternative B dan alternative C (seandainya ada hal hal yang terjadi di luar rencana kita). Dengan mempersiapkan alternative B dan C, seandainya memang terjadi , kita sudah lebih siap secara mental dan tidak panik lagi.

d) Keep smiling. 
Keep thinking positively.

Jangan panik menghadapi change yang berulang kali terjadi. Relax. Pikirkan secara positive, pasti ada hal-hal yang positive yang bisa dipelajari.
Keep learning and keep smilling.

Jadi ingat ya, kalau ingin menyesuaikan diri dengan irama perubahan yang begitu cepat, lakukan keempat hal ini:
a) Recognize the emotions caused by change
b) See change as a fresh start
c) Create your FLAN
d) Keep smiling. Keep positive thinking.
